Telephone Calls
If
you have medical questions, please call our office at (419) 578-7200
during regular office hours. Our telephone policies are designed to
allow us to care for our patients with a minimum of interruptions and
to answer necessary questions and take care of urgent problems. When
calling about a specific problem, a message may be taken and directed
to a nurse or medical assistant who will be able to advise you in most
situations. They may need to return your call after consulting with the
physician. Please be sure to leave a number where you can be reached.
Emergency and After Hours
After
6:00 PM our telephones are automatically forwarded to the Academy of
Medicine answering service. In an emergency, the physician can always
be reached by calling our office number (419) 578-7200. The Academy of
Medicine will ask your name, a phone number where you can be reached
and ask you to describe any symptoms that you are experiencing. The
answering service will take a message and page the physician who will
return your call as soon as possible. If it is a true emergency, please
proceed to the nearest hospital emergency room where the physician on
duty will begin treatment and notify the doctor on call.
Office Hours
Office
hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Friday 7:00
AM to 4:00 PM. We are closed Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. Inclement Weather
In
the event that there should be a level 3 snow emergency in Lucas
County, the office will be closed. If the level 3 is lifted before
10:00 am, the office will open for patients. If it is a level 3 past
10:00 am the office will remain closed for the day.
Hospitalization
Our
physicians are on staff at several hospitals. The choice of hospital,
if needed, may depend on your insurance coverage.
Fees and Insurance
This
is often a confusing and frustrating part of your medical care. We
encourage you to discuss any questions you may have with our Billing
Office. Fees are within the customary and reasonable limits of our
community. Co-payments are expected at the time that services are
rendered. You will be responsible for payment of any portion of a fee
that is not covered by your insurance. Special arrangements can be made
with our billing office for unique situations. Please notify our staff
of any changes in your insurance, address, and or telephone number. If
you have any questions concerning your bill or insurance, please call
our Billing Office at (419)578-7550.
Prescription Refills
Prescriptions
will be refilled during office hours, Monday through Friday. Please
have the name, phone number of the pharmacy, and the prescription
refill number available when you call.
Prescriptions
will not be refilled over the weekend. If you think you will run out of
a prescription over the weekend, please call us on Thursday or Friday.
How To Find Us
We
are located at the Wildwood Medical Center in Building A on Reynolds
Road just south of Central Avenue. There is plenty of parking
available, as well as, the office building being handicapped accessible.
